We met at 9 a.m. in the parking lot and elected to take the ski lift up 2000', from there downhill a couple hundred feet to meet the trail. Gail Hanna and Richard Carey started at 8 a.m. and hiked all the way on the trail, beating us to the top. Jon Lutz took over for Gene Olsen who couldn't attend. Others making the summit were Rick Beatty, Claire Beekman, Julie King, Loren Lindgren, Renee Spargur, Martha Flores, and Betty Jones. We were back at the cars by 2 p.m.

Jon and Betsy Lutz split for Navajo that afternoon, accompanied by Julie, Loren, Martha, Gail and Carey. Carey's vehicle made the peak, as well as all the participants, some of whom walked.

Rick Beatty accompanied 4 ladies next day to do Tipton. I almost gave up before we started--the road in was covered with deep sand (definitely needs 4W0 which we didn't have) and we got stuck and had to find a way around. Got to the trailhead at 9:45--but back to the cars by dark--where we promptly got stuck on the way out and had to be rescued by a rancher who followed us for miles afterwards "baby sitting" as he referred to it.
